PRODUCT: Amázzoni is not only the first gin created in Brazil in a dedicated distillery, but from this land it welcomes five ingredients never before used as botanical ingredients in a gin. Juniper berries, pink pepper, bay leaf, lemon, tangerine, and coriander with the addition of the five unreleased Amazonian ingredients: cacao, Brazilian chestnut, maxixe, water lily, and cipó cravo.
The ingredients, 11 in all, are macerated in their natural state in distilled grain alcohol in a large copper still, the first ever designed and cast in Brazil, the beating heart and pride of the La Cachoeira distillery.
PROFILE: The perfect blend of classic botanicals and local ingredients creates a balanced London Dry with an Amazon soul: organic cocoa beans, maxixe fruit (a typical South American watermelon) and cipó cravo lend a fresh note while Brazilian chestnut lends an oily texture and smooth finish.
