Appleton Summer Rum 1994-1995-1999 Hearts Collection cl 70

Appleton Estate Rum Hearts Collection, a limited edition range of three single marks 100% pot stills selected by Luca Gargano and Appleton Estate’s legendary Master Blender, Joy Spence. The Hearts Collection consists of three unique vintages that embody the excellence of Appleton Estate: 1994, 1995 and the 1999. Each vintage was distilled 26, 25 and 21 years ago, respectively. The Hearts Collection represents a world first: the rums that make up this exclusive series are in fact the first single marks rums, 100% pot still and millesimal, that Appleton Estate has ever released throughout its history. The Hearts Collection owes its name to three reasons:

1. It is composed of rums obtained from a 100% pot still distillation that cuts off the heads and tails and keeps only the heart of the distillate
2. Appleton Estate rums are born in the heart of Jamaica
3. The heart is the symbol Joy Spence drew on the sample she left with Luca after meeting him in Jamaica, and the heart is also an emblem of the passion shared by Joy Spence and Luca Gargano. And it is from their meeting that this range took shape and became a reality.

For the Hearts Collection, Joy initially chose ten rums of different vintages from among the nearly 200,000 in aging at Appleton Estate-one of the largest stocks in the world. During a trip to Jamaica, Luke and Joy met at the distillery and together conducted a blind tasting there. Both of them, unique around the table, selected the same three rums as their favorites. And it is precisely these three rums that have become the stars of the Hearts Collection.
