Caol Ila Distillers Edition won Best Single Malt Scotch, Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2011. He also won International Wine and Spirit Competition Gold in 2008 and 2009 (Best in Class), Gold at International Spirits Competition in 2009 and 2010, and Gold at Scotch Whisky Masters in 2010.
NOSE
Pure, peaty and fresh concentrate with rich fruit; spicy and fragrant.
PALATE
Sweetness and maltiness are overpowered by peat smoke and intense, clean, crisp flavors. The characteristic smoky bonfires of Caol Ila are built. Overall, withering in a balanced, complex, elegant development with cinnamon.
FINAL
Long, rounded, sturdy, and multilayer.
