Grotte Alte is a place: the limestone cliffs on which Vittoria stands. But it is also a wine, Cerasuolo di Vittoria, from Frappato and Nero d’Avola grapes, a synthesis of Sicily. It is a Mediterranean wine that retains the savoriness of the sea and all the air and temperature excursions of the Iblei Mountains. It is harmonious and has experienced long aging. It is perhaps the most ambitious of the Arianna Occhipinti wines. Elegant and proud.
