Chartreuse VEP Verte
The monks produce Chartreuse V.E.P. Verte today as they did yesterday. They jealously guard their secret and are the only ones who know the details of production.
The liqueurs produced contain no chemical additives; the color itself comes from the plants that make them up. The 130 herbs in the recipe are steeped in a high-quality alcohol, and afterwards distilled.
After this process, a distillate of honey and sugar syrup is added for Jaune. At this point begins the long aging in oak barrels, in the beautiful cellars in Voiron.
The Bottle of Chartreuse V.E.P. Verte is very distinctive, waxed cap, back label also wax sealed with the La Grande Chartreuse emblem.
It comes in a wooden box, marked with the Chartreuse symbol from a hot iron
The quantity available each year is very limited, in fact each bottle has its own identification number and bottling year
