The vineyards cover almost the entire Châteauneuf – du – Pape commune and four other communes (Bédarrides, Courthézon, Orange and Sorgues).
Alluvial terraces of red clay, sand and quartz.
90% Grenache, 10% Syrah.
Characteristics of Cru:
Surface area: 3 164 ha
fermentation in concrete tanks for ten days, followed by maceration for eight to ten days to complete extraction. After racking and pressing, malolactic fermentation is carried out in vats.
Aging: 14 à 16 months in new, one-year-old barrels.
Garnet-red color. Net and intense spicy aromas on the nose that develop and highlight powerful matter and fine, dense tannins on the palate. The broad, concentrated taste culminates in a licorice finish.
