Cocchi Vermouth Storico di Torino Rosso
Vermouth of Turin is a collective heritage of the Piedmontese, whose first major promoter was the royal court of the Savoy family, beginning in the late 18th century developed a flourishing industry that made Piedmont the kingdom of Vermouth.
To mark 120 years since its founding, the Historic Vermouth of Turin, produced according to Giulio Cocchi’s original recipe, returns. This vermouth falls into the category of sweet vermouth, or Italian vermouth, sweet and amber-colored, found in late 19th-century manuals.
Historic Cocchi Vermouth of Turin has been a key player in the international renaissance of high-end vermouths and the renewed interest of top bartenders in the Vermouth of Turin designation to the point that in the United States it is familiarly referred to as “Cocchi Torino.”
It has quickly become one of the high-end Vermouths of choice for the world’s best bars.
FEATURES
Giulio Cocchi’s original recipe calls for the use of herbs such as cinchona and rhubarb that slightly tinge the beautiful clear wine brown. To accentuate the amber hue, browned sugar prepared over the fire is added, as for crème caramel, which, with the color, also gives a special note to the taste: crunchy and spun sugar that can round out all bitter tastes without making use of vanilla.
A vermouth that excites, rich in sensations: among the aromatic herbs and spices, mugwort and citrus are the protagonists, which with cinchona give balanced bitter and citrus tones that characterize Cocchi’s style.
The taste is therefore rich, with vibrant notes of cocoa and bitter orange. From the infusion of some noble and balsamic woods come slightly camphorated scents and hints of rosemary in the finish.
Minor ingredients include herbs and woods with unique scents such as sandalwood, musk, myrrh, and nutmeg.
