Cragganmore Single Malt Whisky 20 YO Special Release 2020 cl 70

A Cragganmore of this age has never been released by the Cragganmore distillery. Sweet, mellow woody notes emerge from this small batch, patiently matured for more than 20 years in a mix that included new charred American oak barrels.
Cragganmore is a highly respected Speyside malt, founded by a giant among distillers, John Smith. The ethereal aromas are among the most complex to be found in any malt, and they appear and disappear as mysteriously as the spectral flight of the barn owl as it stalks the wooded valleys of Speyside at dusk in search of its prey.
Showing the sweet and spicy effects of partial maturation in new oak, this expression explores woods just as deeply. The soft nose is overall sweet and reveals fruity top notes of ripe pear, soft melon and green banana, then more savory hints of soft glove leather and polished hardwood. The texture is creamy and velvety while the taste is rich and not as sweet, deliciously balanced by a savory mid-palate. The finish is long, velvety and spicy.
