Cragganmore 2009 matured in ex-bodega port cask wood for succulence and depth of flavor and enhancing the complex smoky aromas and flavors of the annual release.
Cragganmore Distillers Edition won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2006, 2008 and 2009. He also won the International Wine and Spirit Competition Gold in 2004, 2007 (Best in Class), 2008 and 2009. He won gold at the International Spirits Competition in 2005 and 2008, and won gold at the Scotch Whisky Masters in 2009; he was a Master there in 2011. Not forgetting the best Speyside without age statement, at the World Whisky Awards in 2009.
NOSE
Sweet and malty. Fruitier, juicier than normal bottling. A hint of smoke.
PALATE
Firm and sweet, with smoky and fruity undertones. Malt, oak, and smoke. Layered in an intriguing way.
FINAL
Medium to long and dry, with beautiful wood expressions from banana and vanilla to cocoa.
