THE VINTAGE
2013 returns to the glorious steps of late harvests. After a cold and wet winter followed by a very cool and rainy spring, the vineyard started its growth a fortnight late. The hot, dry summer, with the most sun exposure ever recorded in Champagne, was particularly beneficial for grape quality. The early September rains soon gave way to wind, which kept the clusters healthy until harvest. The harvest lasted from September 28 to October 15, with grapes revealing a promising balance between acidity and roundness.

The creation of the 2013 Vintage reveals echoes of pinot noir and chardonnay, between acidity and body. The precise, elegant and tactile bouquet blossoms into an extremely delicate aromatic and powdery weave, which is wrapped around three nuances: first citrus, then more vegetal notes and finally spicy accents. This precision reveals a simple, clear-cut elegance in which the wine, after an ethereal attack, amplifies and then blossoms, before indulging in an ineffable sense of clarity.
BALANCE OF ACIDITY AND ROUNDNESS
The nose is delicate and revealed with colorful touches. The greenness of eucalyptus, mint and vetiver. The yellow-orange of mirabella, apricot, and orange blossom. The brown of pepper, cardamom and licorice stick. The silver of iodine and roasted aromas. The palate is elegant, sharp and precise. The attack is enveloping and ethereal. Then, the fine and silky texture of the wine is amplified. On the finish, it releases a saline, savory sensation that reveals a deep coherence.
