Domaines Ott Château Romassan Bandol Rosé 2022 Cl 75
The lively elegance, breadth and tension of Rosé du Château Romassan are the result of careful vine management and winemaking. While each plot is worked according to its inherent qualities, they all belong to the terroir of Bandol wines: an arid soil-composed of limestone, sandstone and sandy marl-and a sunny, particularly dry climate.
These characteristics allow the main grape variety in this blend, Mourvèdre, to flourish, imparting robustness, structure and great capacity for aging. It is complemented by the deep vinosity of Grenache, the smoothness of Cinsault and, to a small extent, the fruity roundness of Syrah.
Its soft, airy pink color, borrowed from golden or orange hues, reveals citrus and white flower scents on the nose. On the palate the attack is lively, revealing notes of pink grapefruit, fleshy fruit and even, when this wine opens, fruit tart. The finish is complex and persistent.
Located in Castellet the small plots are arranged in terraces to give ample scope to the Mourvèdre
poor, composed of limestone, sandstone, and marls from the marine Upper Cretaceous. The acidity of the soil and low rainfall are compensated by the sea air from the Gulf of Bandol.
Mourvèdre 60%, Cinsault 25%, Grenache 15%.
Light and bright peach color. The fragrance, fresh and fruity, develops apricot and grapefruit aromas. Spicy and citrus notes intertwine with those of white-fleshed fruits.
The palate is frank, mouthwatering and complex, characterized by a nice structure and a hint of acidity on the finish, giving it a pleasant breadth and pleasant persistence.
