Duca Enrico 2018 is one of the iconic wines of Italian and international enology. The first pure Nero d’Avola in the history of Sicilian wines, this noble red represents a work of oenological art characterized by aristocratic charm and unmistakable style. First produced in 1984, this very select label is distinguished by its exceptional quality and long-standing tradition.
Territory of Origin: Produced in the central-southern lands of Sicily, specifically in the town of Butera on the Riesi-Gela axis, Duca Enrico has its roots in the renowned SuorMarchesa Estate. This area is renowned for raising the prince of Sicilian grape varieties, Nero d’Avola.

Vinification and Aging: After manual harvesting when perfectly ripe, the grapes are destemmed and undergo maceration at 28°-30°C for 8-10 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. Subsequently, the wine matures for at least 18 months in French oak barrels, gaining complexity, style and longevity. Finally, bottle aging takes place for an additional 18 months at a controlled temperature.
