Year 2020 climate trend
The 2020 vintage is a vintage of sublime quality throughout the North Slope, possibly one of the best of the current decade, the winter recorded a high percentage of rainfall ( +600 mm ) that formed an excellent reserve for the future season. The spring was warm and mild, with a slight acceleration of the vegetative phase, while the summer was dry and tended to be rainfall-free, with great concentration and thickening of the bloom. The first refreshing and much-needed rains came four months after the last, toning the vineyard and bringing the phenolics back in line. September and October were cool and mild, with a healthy and high-quality harvest. Erse Rosso 2020 has a rich, voluptuous nose, ranging from wild herbs to strawberry, black cherry and ending with pepper, cinchona and ash; the mouth has great fruit, rounded, but also marked acidity and a feminine, yet rich tannin; the finish closes saline, almost marine, with a hint of underbrush.
