Etna Rosso DOC Rosso di Mezzo Federico Graziani 2018
Name
Etna Rosso DOC
Rosso di Mezzo is a project in the making, telling of both today and tomorrow for the company.
This is the wine made from the best grapes from the 100-year-old vineyards of Passopisciaro, in the four plots owned by the contrada of Feudo di Mezzo, and it represents the future because it will also involve, in the coming vintages, the young free-range vineyard located in the heart of the same famous contrada.
A wine where pre-phylloxera vines meet those originating from the mass selection work done on the oldest vineyards, bringing back a terse fruit and intact plant, without any rootstock injury.
Grapes
Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Alicante and Francisi
Vinification and aging
Spontaneous fermentation in open vats, without temperature control and with indigenous yeasts, aging in steel for 24 months, 6 months in bottle.
Sensory description
Ruby red color, transparent and deep.
The nose is intense and fruity, red currants and wild blueberries, followed by a note of caper leaf and fresh herbs. Lively, elegant and subtle on the palate, herbal sensations and a hint of blood orange return; it closes with a mineral flint sensation.
Food pairings
Pleasant pairing with barbecued lamb chops, eggplant parmigiana and roasts
of white meat
