Pietro Caciorgna N’Anticchia Etna rosso 2016
N * Anticchia, with the 2005 vintage, was the first wine produced on Etna and is the result of the selection of the best grapes from the three owned vineyards. The name is a very beautiful word, which means a “little”, widely used in the common talk of the Sicilians. N * Anticchia represents the essence of what is my interpretation of Etna and the centenary Nerello Mascalese, the prince vine of this magical area. It is clear, like water from a magical spring, and is rich in mineral notes thanks to the centuries-old lava streams from which it comes. Presents light fruity notes of strawberry and raspberry. It reveals velvety tannins, is elegant, complex and has a persistent aftertaste. It is refined, extremely delicate, with character and sophisticated. It reaches its best expression between 5 and 15 years of aging.
