Etna Rosso Prefillossera 2017 Palmento Costanzo
A family-run company, born after the restoration project of an ancient nineteenth-century millstone in 2010, by Mimmo and Valeria Costanzo who, in 14 hectares of property, of which ten dedicated to the vine at the foot of Etna (north side ), Produce wines based on native grapes: nerello mascalese, nerello cappo, carricante and catarratto.
A cellar with a modern spirit and attention to detail, which flows into innovative packaging, the multisensory label, in addition to the image of the volcano, is made thanks to a totally printable material pigment, extracted from the dust of Etna.
All the vines are sustained only in an organic regime, certified both in cultivation and in production.
Characteristics: Ruby red color. Nose: deep and rich with notes of red fruit, shades of graphite, volcanic powder, balsamic. Taste: enveloping, with velvety tannins, impressive and long, with a delicate and pleasantly savory finish.
Production area: Contrada Santo Spirito, Passopisciaro, Etna | Higher terraces | North exposure.
Grapes: 90% Nerello Mascalese – 10% Nerello Cappuccio. Vineyard from 1910

Soil type: Black and brown volcanic sands 60-70%; pebbles and effusive rocks.
Training system: Sapling supported by chestnut palids. Centennial plants.

Average yield per hectare: 0.5 kg / plant; 28 Hl / Ha.
Harvest: Manual with selection on the vine, mid October.
Vinification and prolonged maceration in 5hl rotary barrels and large woods.
Aging: in wood for 24 months.
