Fabio Ferracane Foddreè Vino Bianco Mosso 2022 cl 75
Welcome to the winery that is passionately dedicated to managing 5 hectares of vineyards (with two more on the way). The daily mission of this winery is to create authentic wines that express to the fullest the character of the Marsala territory.
They grow varieties such as Catarratto, Grillo, Nero d’Avola and Merlot (the latter from a vineyard owned by their father). Most of the vineyards are located in the vicinity of Marsala’s Stagnone Islands Nature Reserve. They fall in love with this area every day, enjoying the sea breeze and warm Sicilian sun, with spectacular views of the islands of Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo and the reflections of the Saline Islands.
Respect for the authenticity of the terroir is reflected in vineyard practices, with few sulfur and copper treatments, carefully chosen according to climatic conditions and humidity. Interventions in the vineyard are customized, focusing on producing quality and healthy grapes. In less favorable years, they carefully select the clusters.
In the winery, they take a natural approach to fermentations, with minimal use of chemicals. The addition of sulfites is limited, and temperature control is essential, especially in the warmer months.
Some of their wines are made without added sulfur and without temperature control. They make adaptive decisions each year, because making wine is an art that embraces the variety and changing nature of the vineyard.
Their bottle labels tell the story of their passion for “slow farming,” celebrating the uniqueness and beauty of the land in which they are immersed. The image of the vineyard, shoots, leaves and grapes is an intentional graphic choice, representing the philosophy of wine, from the vineyard to the winery to the bottle that will be enjoyed in pleasant company.

Description: Foddreè Catarratto is the wine that embraces madness in a positive way, bringing a touch of originality and genius to the table. The term “foddre” in Sicilian dialect means “crazy, mad, mad,” but here, madness is interpreted as the unconventionality and genius of a wine that stands out for its uniqueness.
This naturally moved Catarratto is the result of winemaking inspired by traditional Sicilian methods. Bottled when fermentation is almost complete, it retains minimal residual sugar, allowing fermentation to complete in the bottle. This natural process creates a slightly stirred wine, which, as the name suggests, seems to go crazy inside the bottle.
With a deep straw yellow color and a bouquet that evokes yeast, pear and almond, Foddreè is a fresh, savory and long palate experience. To be served at 10°-12°C as an aperitif paired with appetizers, it is a wine that invites you to be carried away by its originality and enjoy a moment of pure wine fun. A limited edition of 680 bottles makes Foddreè a wine to savor and appreciate in every single sip.
