Berlucchi ’61 Saten Franciacorta DOCG
Elegant, refined: lhe soft elegance makes it a perfect companion for aperitifs. It is also ideal with delicate risottos and fish dishes. Try with prosciutto crudo from Sauris, Parma or San Daniele and cheeses that are not too aged.
Characteristics
- UVE: 100% Chardonnay from the most suitable vineyards in the 19 communes of Franciacorta.
- HARVEST TIME: from the second decade of August to the first of September.
- YIELD: 9,000 kg of grapes per hectare, with a must yield of 55 percent, equivalent to 6,600 bottles per hectare.
- VINIFICATION: Soft, progressive pressing of the bunches with fractionation of the musts; alcoholic fermentation in steel vats.
- MATURATION: Preparation of the cuvée in the spring following the harvest. Second fermentation in the bottle and subsequent aging in contact with its own yeasts for at least 24 months, followed by another 2 months after disgorgement. The lower overpressure in the bottle (5 final atmospheres), characteristic of the Satèn type, gives elegant creaminess.
- DOSAGE: Brut Satèn.
Organoleptic Characteristics
- VISUAL APPEARANCE: soft and creamy froth. Good persistence of a faint corona; fine and continuous perlage.
- COLOR: deep straw yellow.
- BOUQUET: rich, elegant, varied. Hints of ripe yellow tropical fruit, which in progression become more concentrated and then evolve into notes of candied citrus.
- TASTE: The palate reveals marked acidity and savoriness, presents great structure, rare drinkability that ends with a long, precise finish.
