Franz Haas Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC 2021
Gewürztraminer has a deep golden yellow color with a deep bouquet of complex aromas such as lychee, orange peel, clove, nutmeg and rose. The wine needs to rest a few moments in the glass to express itself at its best. It is full and stimulating on the palate due to its structure, freshness and liveliness, with a slightly bitter and very persistent final note. Gewürztraminer reaches its full evolution only after several months of maturation in the bottle.
AREA OF PRODUCTION
The Gewürztraminer vines, all trained on Guyot systems, grow on deep, loamy soils with a significant presence of skeleton (high percentage of pebbles) at altitudes ranging from 350 to 650 meters (1,500 to 2,500 feet) and facing southwest.
METHOD OF WINEMAKING
The must after a short period of maceration (contact with the skins) is fermented at a low temperature in steel tanks. Then, the wine matures on the lees with frequent battonage (keeping the yeast in suspension) for about six months before bottling.
