Gin 209 – AN ELEVATED SPIRIT.
The best possible gin for those who care about what they drink
Very different from the juniper-heavy gins of the past, No. 209 opens with a wonderfully aromatic nose of predominantly citrus and floral notes with a hint of spiciness. First on the palate are the high notes of citrus, with lemon followed by a hint of orange. As the spirit warms in the mouth, delicate floral notes are released by bergamot and coriander. On the midpalate, there is a pepper-like warmth from the emerging cardamom and juniper. As the cardamom continues to bloom on the palate, additional mint-like components emerge. Cassia and other warm spicy notes become prominent in the finish. Cassia in particular lingers, favoring another sip.
A SPIRIT MADE TO MIX
Gin No. 209’s wonderfully aromatic nose of citrus, floral notes and a hint of spiciness makes it perfect for mixing into cocktails of all kinds. Firm enough to stand alone in a dry martini but quite different from the overwhelming gins of the past, No. 209 is all about balance.
BOTANICALS FROM FOUR CONTINENTS
The exact recipe for Gin No. 209 is a jealously guarded secret that includes eleven botanicals from four continents. In addition to including the finest Calabrian juniper, the delicious complexity of No. 209’s citrus and spice flavor profile is the result of bergamot orange zest, lemon peel, cardamom pods, cassia bark, angelica root, coriander seeds, bitter orange and more.
ARTISAN PRODUCT in the San Francisco Bay Area
No. 209 Gin and San Francisco share not only a respect for tradition and history, but also a confident, boundary-pushing attitude that encourages risk-taking and bold innovation. The natural cooling properties of 13 feet of San Francisco Bay water below the pier keep the air temperature in the distillery perfect for distillation (and experimentation) year-round.
