Gin Citadelle Original
From the standpoint of legislation, Citadelle Gin is a London Gin. However, the method used to produce Citadelle Gin is more complex:
– The use of a Charentais still with a maximum capacity of 25 hectoliters
– distillation over an open flame (not steam)
– 18 botanicals in addition to juniper
– Pure gin – no added sugar
Citadelle Gin has delicate and fragrant hints of fresh flowers, jasmine, honeysuckle and cinnamon. After a few moments, stronger, herbaceous aromas of anise, grains of paradise, and cinnamon develop. The fragrance is reminiscent of di gardens in spring. On the palate, juniper gives way to a complexity reminiscent of fresh flowers, leading into an elegant, round and highly refined finish. The 19 botanicals are infused for 72 hours, three days in which Citadelle Gin takes shape with all its aromatic notes. For 12 hours, Citadelle is distilled in a copper still over an open flame.
