GIULIO FERRARI 2009 FOUNDER’S RESERVE
2009 vintage
The winter was particularly harsh and characterized by heavy rainfall. The delay with which the growing season started, however, was quickly made up thanks to a very warm spring that brought the development of the vines back to average values already during flowering and fruit set. Good temperature ranges during the summer, with temperatures even above seasonal averages, led to a harvest of perfectly healthy and aromatically rich grapes.
Tasting Notes
The appearance in the goblet shows golden reflections and a perlage of great persistence and refinement.
The olfactory onset is intense and immediately recalls floral notes of jasmine as well as quince, blond orange and gingerbread. Tasting only confirmed the great richness that the aromas hinted at. The sip is creamy yet vibrant at the same time, made interminable by a pleasant iodine surge. The closure returns to notes of delicate spices and exotic fruit that lengthen the persistence and return to underscore its extraordinary nobility.
