Gosset Champagne Extra Brut cl 75
Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne founded, in Aÿ, in 1584 by Pierre Gosset. At this time only wines from Aÿ and those from Beaune were allowed at the table of the King of France. Gosset was passed down from father to son for fourteen generations until 1994, when it was sold to the Cointreau family. Gosset assemblages bring together the best Crus de la Marne. In the winery, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks so as to protect the wine from any oxidation; efforts are made to exclude malo-lactic fermentation to preserve the acidic freshness and aromatic fragrance of the different varieties. Champagnes produced include sans année in which 30 percent reserve wines are used to ensure the centuries-old style of the house. In 2009, to mark its 425th anniversary, Gosset moved to Epernay, to the Trouillard Palace, equipped with 5 km of galleries dug into the chalk up to 20 meters deep where bottled wines are aged. Even today, the range of Gosset champagnes is presented in a historic bottle that is an exact reproduction of the one they have used since the 18th century.
