This special Grappa Riserva di Barbera already matured, for a long period (2 years), in oak, was subsequently raised over 24 months in barrels purchased in Spain and already used to raise the “Sherry” of one of the most prestigious wineries . The particular stay in Sherry barrels was experimented by us in an innovative way on Grappa and with exceptional results from a qualitative point of view. The intense and characterizing aroma and the elegant, engaging flavor with a sweet aftertaste, are very reminiscent of that of the Sherry already contained in these barrels.
Raw material: Barbera pomace, from grapes harvested fresh during the harvest and selected by Sibona.
Distillation: Totally in-house, in copper stills, thanks to the expert experience of our winemakers-master distillers.
Aging: for a long time in stainless steel tanks.
Aging: first for 2 years in medium-sized classic oak barrels and then in Sherry barrels for a further 2 years (total stay in wood 4 years).
Alcohol content: 44% vol.
Bottle: special and elegant Sibona graduated bottle with side notches indicating the contents and pouring spout.
Case: Elegant cylindrical case, with top closure.
Capacity: 50 cl.
ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS
Color: Amber.
Bouquet: Intense, characterizing, with delicate notes of walnuts and hazelnuts.
Taste: Elegant, engaging and with a sweet aftertaste. Persistent finish with hints of dried fruit and cocoa.
Pairings: Dried fruit, walnuts, almonds, sweets and chocolate. Also delicious with aged cheeses. Perfect match also with cigar.
Tasting Tips: taste at a temperature of around 18 ° C, in a classic tulip glass or balloon glass with or without stem (cognac type).
