Hartmann Dona Rouge Schiava 2017
DONÀ ROUGE is the result of a bold idea: to create something truly special using local Schiava grapes, rediscovering and reinterpreting the potential of this ancient grape variety.
- Origin: This wine originates from a sunny, airy vineyard located at 450 meters above sea level, with medium-textured soil of glacial origin. Schiava vines, aged between 40 and 50 years and with deep roots, produce small-berry clusters rich in flavor, thanks to careful care and respect for nature.
- Blend: To complete the idea of DONÀ ROUGE, 2 percent Lagrein and 3 percent Pinot Noir were added, contributing to the wine’s complexity and balance.
- Aging: After gentle cellar processing, the wine was aged for 23 months in wooden barrels, followed by bottle aging for an additional 2 years. This process gives DONÀ ROUGE a unique personality, characterized by soft spiciness and great balance.
The result is a red wine with character, spicy and smooth, with great harmony, reflecting the best of terroir and winemaking craftsmanship.
