Hauner Malvasia Delle Lipari DOC Naturale 2020 Cl 50

The passion for oenology and Malvasia delle Lipari, as the last challenge of an intense life full of interests. This is the spirit with which Carlo Hauner embarks on his adventure in the Aeolian Islands in 1963; from painter to internationally renowned designer, he started the production of wine after having restored ancient terraces on the island of Salina. His small revolutions in the cellar fascinate experts, starting with Veronelli, who bring Hauner’s Malvasia to the table of prestigious restaurants in Italy, France, the United States, Great Britain, Japan. In the 1980s, with the construction of a modern cellar, production expanded, alongside the Malvasia, the Salina Bianco, the Salina Rosso and the Antonello were born, a product of great lineage aged in barrique. Since 1996, his son Carlo Junior together with his sons Andrea and Michele have run the company and produce two versions of Malvasia delle Lipari: natural and passita.

Vinification:

VINIFICATION: pre-cooling of the grapes and subsequent light skin contact with immediate draining and fermentation at a controlled temperature

MATURATION: in steel tanks and barriques
AGING: 6 months in the bottle

Tasting Notes:

Wine of a luminous bright golden yellow. The nose is of great finesse with evident salty and slightly vegetal notes, a decisive fruity aroma of ripe yellow fruit and citrus holes with hints of vanilla and butter. Fresh and savory mouth in perfect balance with the softness and warmth of alcohol; of good persistence and great harmony.
