Hauner Rosso Antonello Salina IGT 2020 Cl 75
Passion for oenology and Malvasia delle Lipari as the latest challenge in a busy life studded with interests. This was the spirit with which Carlo Hauner embarked on his adventure in the Aeolian Islands in 1963; from painter to internationally renowned designer, he started wine production after restoring ancient terracing on the island of Salina. His little revolutions in the cellar fascinated experts, starting with Veronelli, and that brought Hauner’s Malvasia to the table of prestigious restaurants, in Italy, France, the United States, Great Britain, and Japan. In the 1980s, with the construction of a modern winery, production was expanded, and alongside Malvasia came Salina Bianco, Salina Rosso and Antonello, a product of great lineage aged in barriques. Since 1996 his son Carlo Junior together with his sons Andrea and Michele have been running the winery and producing two versions of Malvasia delle Lipari: natural and passita.

Description: Shows a beautiful ruby red color with flashes of garnet in the nail; dense and bright color. The nose expresses good-bred character that is broad and rich in sensations ranging from small ripe red fruits, blackberries and blueberries, to a light spice of vanilla and cardamom that harmonizes with mineral notes of graphite and gunpowder. The taste is rich and enveloping velvety to softness still leaves room for round and delicate tannins.
Pairing: Ideal for processed and spicy red meat preparations, aged and richly flavored cheeses.
