Agave syrup is a natural sweetener made from the sap of the blue agave tree from Mexico, is totally soluble and sweetens on average 25 percent more than white sugar. It occurs like honey, but in a more liquid form. One of the production steps is to make the flavor of this syrup neutral, and this is critical in all applications so as not to cover up the flavors of the other ingredients, but rather to enhance them.
Herradura produces its syrup from proprietary crops and in addition to being the indispensable ingredient in the preparation of Tommy’s Margarita, it can be used as a sweetener in the preparation of countless cocktails to which it gives an unmistakable and unique character.
