Idda Bianco 2021 Sicily PDO
‘Etna is not just a volcano, it is the mountain that originated in hundreds of thousands of years of lava eruptions. Sicilians recognize her feminine nature, as a strict and generous mother, so much so that they call her IDDA, meaning “She.” IDDA is pure energy, offering a land where every fruit ripens with a thousand shades.
IDDA also became a joint project of two families, Gaja and Graci. Ours is an adventure born in 2016 on Europe’s highest active volcano. A company created to explore the southern area of Etna in search of vineyards that express elegance and complexity thanks to the nature of the soils and the luminosity that characterizes these places.
Today the company owns 20 hectares of vineyards located between 600 and 800 m above sea level in the municipalities of Belpasso and Biancavilla. The grape varieties currently grown are Nerello Mascalese and Carricante. More vineyards will be planted in the future.
