Lucente is the second wine of Luce.
It is the result of a selection of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes capable of producing an immediate and very pleasant wine, in a contemporary style.
The perfect expression of the uniqueness of the territory from which it comes. It is aged for 12 months in barriques in the Tenuta Luce cellars before bottling.
The 2018 vintage was characterized in the winter and spring by higher than normal rainfall which made it possible to accumulate water reserves in the ground, after the drought of the previous year.
A humid spring, associated with high average temperatures ensured a homogeneous vegetative development for Sangiovese and Merlot. The additional rains during flowering slowed fruit set, naturally lowering the production load of the plants.
The summer period was marked by a very regular climate, dry without excess temperatures, allowing a rapid veraison of the grapes.
The temperature range between day and night in September coupled with the north wind, favored the ripening of the grapes with a magnificent aromatic evolution.
The color is intense and bright red. The nose opens with intense fruity hints of blackberry, plum and currant, enriched with toasted and vanilla nuances. On the palate it is full and
enveloping, soft and elegant, with a long finish and a pleasantly sweet and fruity aftertaste.
