Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs 2013 Cl 75
MILLESIMAL
The 2013 vintage is characterized by a particularly late cycle! The endless winter has given way to a very shy spring. To reach full bloom, it was necessary to wait until early June. The radiant summer with record-breaking sunshine and low rainfall was very favorable for the ripening of Pinot noirs and Chardonnays. The October harvest was again held under the banner of cool autumn weather, which yielded elegant, fresh wines–great ” classics.”
ELABORATION
The 2013 Blanc de Blancs cuvée underwent gentle pressing for a rounder effervescence and deeper color. The dosage is 8 g/l.
THE TASTING
Brilliant color, deep yellow with green highlights. Sweet, regular perlage accompanies a pleasant bouquet reminiscent of pollen, flowers, honeysuckle, lily of the valley and lemon all paired with more concentrated, candied citrus. This is followed by the toasty, confectionery, cereal and wheat notes typical of Avize’s great Chardonnays.
Round, fruity attack that quickly gives way to a mineral, chalky freshness but with a velvety, rich texture. A perception of cold, wet chalk, with just the right amount of astringency to enliven the perception of minerality finely integrated into the material.
