Louis Roederer Champagne Brut Nature 2015 by Philippe Starck cl 75
VINTAGE
Extraordinary vintage in the year of Champagne’s recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site! 2015 is perfectly in line with the continental trend of the decade: mild, wet winter and hot, dry summer! The hot and sunny summer will be remembered for record heat and drought… Fortunately, in the second half of August, a lifesaving rain gave much-needed relief to the vines. Ripening, thanks to this cool-weather finish, will yield juicy, ripe and concentrated grapes! The ambition of this thousandth? Capturing the essence of a spectacular vintage!
TASTING NOTES
Yellow color, with iridescent highlights.
Dynamic and regular effervescence.
Pure, soaring, vertical, rich and concentrated bouquet. It evokes ripe but elegant aromas: fine and delicate citrus zest (lemon, orange), vanilla (Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar) warmer nuances of baked apple, tarte tatin, tending gradually toward crisp notes.
The palate offers a marked and singular contrast: undeniably expressionist thanks to the broad, juicy, almost sensual texture of the clay soils of Cumières in a year rich in sunshine, but also resolutely minimalist thanks to a real vein of freshness, pure, mineral, stimulating, due to the zero dosage. Ripe citrus fruits mingle with hot pebbles to further enhance the salivation and umami-related aspect. The finish is energetic, light and ethereal.
