Louis Roederer Collection 242 Astucciato Cl 75
Harvest 2017
A complicated year, due to frost and humidity, culminating in a summer marked by almost tropical weather (humid and hot) that favored reaching full maturity.
FEATURES
It is Maison Louis Roederer’s new, unprecedented blending idea that was created to concretize the path of converting the vineyards to biodynamics undertaken 20 years ago. This is an evolutionary Brut sans année, benefiting from the effects of climate change; a tribute to reserve wines and the best estate vineyards. Each cuvée is numbered consecutively, 242 representing the number of vintages made in the history of the Maison, which was founded in 1776. The blend of each Collection has as its base, the grapes of a single vintage.

Tasting notes:
The dominant presence of Chardonnay mirrors the grape’s success in the 2017 harvest; the very ripe grapes give the blend notes of ripe and sweet fruit ennobled by fine woody notes. The mouth is ripe, and generous, the Pinot Noirs and Meunier from the Marne Valley emphasize the gourmet and velvety allure, making the sip big and juicy. Excellent freshness and dynamism on the finish.
