The passion for oenology and Malvasia delle Lipari, as the last challenge of an intense life full of interests. This is the spirit with which Carlo Hauner embarks on his adventure in the Aeolian Islands in 1963; from painter to internationally renowned designer, he started the production of wine after having restored ancient terraces on the island of Salina. His small revolutions in the cellar fascinate experts, starting with Veronelli, who bring Hauner’s Malvasia to the table of prestigious restaurants in Italy, France, the United States, Great Britain, Japan. In the 1980s, with the construction of a modern cellar, production expanded, alongside the Malvasia, the Salina Bianco, the Salina Rosso and the Antonello were born, a product of great lineage aged in barrique. Since 1996, his son Carlo Junior together with his sons Andrea and Michele have run the company and produce two versions of Malvasia delle Lipari: natural and passita.

Vinification: 40 days in Barrique

Aging: Barrique

Refinement: 8 months in the bottle

Description: Great luster of a true green gold yellow. Excellent texture with rich tight and heavy arches. Exemplary nose, vinification and aging in wood have developed impressive tertiary aromas. There is a clear note of honey and overripe apricots. Mouth fine and enveloping, almost salty. Perfect balance with a persistent almond finish.

Pairing: Meditation wine or dry pastry.

Tasting Notes:

Great brilliance for this golden passito. Excellent consistency with notes given by aging in wood that have developed impressive tertiary aromas. There is a clear note of honey and overripe apricots. Fine and enveloping, almost salty on the palate. Perfect balance with a persistent almond finish
