Mezcal Real Minero Barril Madrecuishe
Real Minero Barril, Madrecuishe was made from 59% maguey Barril and 41% maguey Madrecuishe. This is an ancestral mezcal, which means (among other things) that the agave used in this mezcal was ground by hand and distilled in small earthenware pots. This style of production has existed for centuries and does not use modern equipment at all.

Real Minero is considered by many to be one of the best Mezcal producers in the world. The family has been producing mezcal for several generations in Santa Catarina Minas, and they are known both in Mexico and abroad for creating some of the best bottles available. All their mezcal is made in small earthenware stills, and almost all of it is allowed to rest in glass for several months before bottling, giving the mezcal a much softer character. In addition to creating great spirits, they also have one of the largest and most diverse sustainable agave reforestation programs. With the help of the community, they were able to save several varieties of agave previously thought to be extinct. The ABV of each batch may vary slightly, so check your bottle for details.
