Monacesca Verdicchio di Matelica 2019
Manual harvesting and immediate soft pressing of grapes without use of sulfur dioxide; fermentation in stainless steel for about 12-15 days at a controlled temperature around 20°C; resting on fine lees until the following spring; natural triggering of malolactic fermentation in late spring, marketing one year after harvest.
This is the Monacesca winery’s most representative interpretation of Verdicchio in Matelica: it must have a minimum of evolution in order to express its full potential and to be consequently appreciated as a wine of remarkable olfactory complexity, with notes of anise, cedar, and dried fruit, extremely powerful and rich in structure on the palate, very deep and long lingering.
