Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt no Age Cl 70 (release 2021)
This is a blended malt dedicated to Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whiskey. He was the first Japanese to master whiskey in Scotland and to produce real whiskey in Japan. Masataka understood that the natural resources surrounding a distillery were essential for quality whiskey. Based on his thinking, he chose two places, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and built two distilleries there. Its delicate malt flavor, fruitiness and extremely balanced taste make it a perfect entry point into the world of Nikka.
Nikka Taketsuru No Age Vatted Malt is the no age statement version of the historic Nikka blend from the two distilleries, Yoichie and Mitagikyo. On the label you will still find the definition “pure malt,” now out of use in Scottish whiskofila terminology but still used in Japan: it means “pure malt,” no malt other than barley is used in this recipe.
