- Climate of the 2020 vintage: The summer of 2020 was moderated by rainfall and generally affected by bad weather; towards the end of July, warm weather returned, followed by rains on August 10 and early September. Later, after the white grapes had fermented and while everyone was at the beach with the majestic mountain in the sun, rains accompanied by hail arrived. A wind from the north blew all night, and on October 1 the long-awaited cold descended on towns and villages. For about a month the sky remained clear, and by October 14 all the red grapes began to ripen. The Cesanese d’Affile was the first to arrive at the winery on Oct. 24, followed by the Petit Verdot whose achievement of maximum balance in the mouth occurred at dawn on Oct. 26, with the grapes carrying aromas of oriental spices and a mixture of crisp red fruits.
