A fine example of Royal Lochnagar, a little shy on the nose but full of character in the mouth. Easy to taste, especially as an aperitif.
On the palate, this is an agile and vital Royal Lochnagar with all the agile freshness of spring and sunshine in its truly captivating texture and taste.

BODY
Medium.

NOSE
The very soft and round nose swirls with subtle aromas. The top notes are slightly fruity, suggesting orange peel and green apple. They are enclosed after a while, in a hint of puff pastry, all resting on a mossy and slightly woody background. Adding a drop of water adds to the fruit, now firm white grapes, and brings out the spiciness.

PALATE
A creamy texture flows smoothly over the palate, the lively taste of barley-sugar sweet and intense from the start with a delicious fruity acidity to mid-palate and a developing woody dryness. A little water makes the creamy texture and sweetness even smoother, while a mouthwatering spicy warmth builds up.

THE FINAL
Welcoming and warm, like the first rays of the sun after a long winter, with a persistent white pepper in the slightly spicy wood aftertaste.
