Sammarcello Barone di Serramarrocco 2018 Terre Siciliane IGP Cl 75
Sammarcello, is Baron’s “petit vin,” the estate’s most representative red wine. Deep ruby color with flashes of purple, featuring aromas of violets, roses and eucalyptus with balsamic aromas of berries, orange chocolate, black cherry and licorice.
Silky tannins enhance the elegant structure in a long, fruity finish. Made from Pignatello grapes harvested by hand in the 3.75-hectare “Sammarcello vineyard,” cultivated in Guyot Bordeaux style with a planting layout of 7,143 vines/ha, a yield of 85 quintals per hectare and 1.30 kg per vine. Vinified in stainless steel with maceration on the skins for 12 to 15 days at 22-24° C, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in concrete tanks. 5 months of bottle aging. First vintage 2015.
