Tequila Volcán De Mi Tierra Cristalino Anejo cl 70
Volcán De Mi Tierra’s aged expression, Cristalino, may be classified as añejo, but it is a blend of añejo and extra añejo tequila matured in French oak barrels for 1 and 3 years, respectively. Following this maturation, the tequilas are filtered with activated charcoal, which removes the added color from the cask but preserves the flavor. Añejo is then finished for 15 days in ex-cognac barrels, while extra añejo spends the last 15 days in ex-whiskey barrels.
To create the recipes that make up Volcán’s two expressions of tequila, Anna Maria Romero Mena, the brand‘s maestra de tequila, experimented with numerous yeast strains, barrel maturations and, most significantly, various blends of blue agave plants from both the lowlands and the highlands . “My hope was to create a spirit that was truly committed to expressing the heart of agave and the terroir from which it came,” he says.
