Elegant and deep, the 2009 Brunello is a true “gentleman’s” wine with a bouquet of underbrush and red fruits, underscored by warm balsamic sensations and elegant hints of flint. THE YEAR 2015
A majestic vintage where structure, elegance and freshness combine to create something special. 2015 was a warm and low rainfall year with high temperatures from May to August, which allowed the vines to achieve excellent ripeness, giving perfect grapes for very high-class wines. We started the collection on September 21.
PROVENANCE.
The 2015 Brunello was made from a selection of Sangiovese Grosso from the estate vineyards.
REFINING.
The 2015 Brunello was aged 3 years in Slavonian oak barrels.
THE EMOTION.
Sunny notes of fruit in the 2015 Brunello speak of a hot vintage. A sweet and fragrant fruit, not opulent, dominated by cherry aromas, typical of high hill Sangiovese. A fruit that rests delicately against a background of herbs such as thyme, rosemary and, lightly, licorice root. On the palate, the persuasive structure reveals velvety tannins, followed by the usual sensation of freshness that has always distinguished Biondi-Santi Brunello, ensuring a beautifully balanced taste experience. The very long finish surprises with its distinct savoriness – a sign of the gastronomic personality of this Brunello. For the first time in its history, Biondi-Santi has produced both 750 ml and Magnum sizes for this vintage.
