The evolution of the Cricket: the Vignaverde
Curiosity, observation, experimentation, respect for identity in diversity. All this is Samperi, and Vignaverde is the vintage wine in Samperi: Grillo in its youngest, fragrant, lively expression, the fruit of a territory that never ceases to amaze.
100% Grillo
3,500 vines per hectare with roots dating back to 1996 in the Contrada Samperi area of Marsala.
Guyot counter-espalier plants. 60 q yield per hectare harvested starting in the second decade of August. Strict manual selection of the clusters, soft pressing, resulting in a must that is left to decant naturally at a cold temperature for 48 hours. The clear part goes into fermentation, by indigenous yeasts, in temperature-controlled steel tanks with minimal use of sulfites. Aging continues for another 6 months in steel tanks, on fine lees.
