Absolut Vodka was initially launched in New York City in 1979. Soon he was the talk of the town, in the United States and around the world. But the recipe behind the clear, natural taste of Absolut Blue Vodka actually dates back well over 40 years, as does the 18th-century medicinal bottle found in an antique store in Stockholm, Sweden, that inspired the iconic Absolut Vodka bottle.

Absolut Blue Vodka is made using only natural ingredients and, unlike many other types of vodka, contains no added sugar. In fact, Absolut is the purest expression when it comes to vodka. Yet, it has an undeniable taste: rich, round and complex, yet soft and mellow with an unmistakable wheat character, to which is added a delicate note of dried fruit.

The main ingredients of Absolut Vodka are water and winter wheat. The water, which comes from a deep well in Åhus, is free of impurities. Winter wheat also grows in Åhus and differs from others: it is sown in the fall and harvested the following fall. For a whole year it grows under the Swedish snow, germinating into sturdy grains. In addition, fertilizer use is minimized.
