The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 18 Years Old is part of the Triple Cask Matured range, a series of single malt whiskies produced in a combination of three casks that includes European and American ex-sherry matured oak casks and American ex-bourbon oak casks. This trinity of spirits, married through a refined process and the result of great expertise, produces an exotic single malt with aromas of orange, velvety cocoa and spicy woody tones.
Produced in a combination of seasoned oak ex-European sherry casks, seasoned oak ex-American sherry casks, and oak ex-American bourbon casks, Triple Cask Matured 18 Years Old is a lively testament to the union of three spirits. Eighteen years of maturation give this expression, with its natural, delicate and complex character throughout the range, exceptional intensity of aromas, with the richness of orange, velvety cocoa and spicy woody aromas and a natural light amber color.
Triple Cask Matured 18 Years Old, formerly known as Fine Oak 18 Years Old offers the same remarkably natural and delicate yet complex character with a new name, a new bottle and assertive packaging. Reflecting the quality of the whiskies and revealing the skills and craftsmanship of the Macallan Masters, this new incarnation of the main range has been available worldwide since the end of April.
Each Macallan single malt whiskey reveals the unparalleled commitment to barrel selection and distillation that has made The Macallan famous since its inception in 1824. It has always been an expression of the desire to cross the walls of tradition, to pursue excellence to give birth to unparalleled single malts.
Our reputation for excellence is a testament to our tireless efforts to find extraordinary oak barrels in which to mature our distillate. Sherry casks have always been at the heart of the Macallan single malt. After identification, expert craftsmanship, roasting and aging under the watchful eye of The Macallan Master of Wood, these hand-selected barrels are delivered according to the exacting specifications of The Macallan Master Distiller and his team.
After bottling, the distillate remains undisturbed in the same barrels for the number of years necessary to make it worthy of the Macallan tradition. It is these oak barrels that make the main contribution to the quality, natural colors and unique aromas and flavors that are at the heart of The Macallan’s single malts.
