Maggiarino Antinori 2017 is an excellent expression of the unique terroir of the Braccesca Estate, located between Montepulciano and Cortona. This wine comes from a careful selection of Sangiovese grapes from the vineyards of the Maggiarino estate, one of the estate’s most vocated areas. The harvest of Sangiovese destined for Maggiarino took place on September 22, 2017.<\/p>\n

Climate (2017):<\/strong><\/h5>\n

  • The 2017 vintage was characterized by low production and excellent grape ripening, despite a mild winter followed by a summer and spring period with high temperatures and low rainfall.<\/li>\n
  • A frost after bud break caused a reduction in production without affecting grape quality.<\/li>\n
  • Excellent day-night temperature fluctuations starting in late August ensured slow and regular ripening of the grapes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Vinification and Maturation:<\/strong><\/h5>\n
      \n
    • Sangiovese grapes were subjected to vinification aimed at preserving aromas and enhancing structure.<\/li>\n
    • After destemming and soft crushing, the grapes fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by maceration for about 20 days.<\/li>\n
    • The wine was then transferred to tonneaux for about 12 months of aging, followed by further rest in the bottle for at least one year before release.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Appearance:<\/strong> deep ruby red.<\/li>\n
      • Nose:<\/strong> Notes of ripe cherry, sweet black cherry, small red fruit, ripe citrus and hints of coffee.<\/li>\n
      • Taste:<\/strong> Elegant character with good tannic structure typical of Sangiovese, with an aftertaste of vanilla and coffee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The 2017 Maggiarino stands out for its elegance and complexity, reflecting Tenuta Braccesca’s unique terroir and attention to the quality of selected Sangiovese grapes.
