A Night on Earth in Jerez 2024 is the third installment in the “A Night on Earth” series, a project that celebrates the great nights—those of New Year’s Eve—and the value of being together. For the distillery’s 200th anniversary, The Macallan looked to Jerez de la Frontera, the land of Sherry wine, to reinterpret tradition and conviviality in a unique Single Malt.

The whisky is the result of a careful blend of European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks, carefully selected by the The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team. Their goal: to capture the flavors, traditions, and Christmas atmosphere of Jerez during “Nochevieja,” New Year’s Eve, filled with celebrations, grapes, sweets, and toasts.

• Color: burnt orange — a reminder of the vineyards, the wood, and the warmth of winter nights.

• Nose: sweet and enveloping — embellished with notes of pastry, dried fruit, raisins, honey, cinnamon, anise, and vibrant citrus. Warm, comforting sensations that evoke familiar scents and memories of celebrations.

• On the palate: Soft and inviting: sweetness of honey-glazed almonds, vanilla, ripe white fruit, and a delicate touch of spice emerge. The Mediterranean and oak notes create a harmonious balance, inviting reflection and conviviality.

• Finish: Pleasant and warm, with hints of dried fruit, caramel, a subtle hint of spice, and oak—a conclusion reminiscent of the sweet warmth of a festive night.

The packaging is an integral part of the experience: created in collaboration with the Spanish artist born in Jerez, María Melero. The box celebrates the vineyard landscapes, local traditions, and the atmosphere of end-of-year celebrations, with iconic references such as “azulejos” and golden grape clusters.
