According to legend, one fateful night the moon turned blood red in the Mortlach sky and a mysterious alchemy occurred. The Beast of Dufftown transformed under the sanguine glow and soared into the night sky, a mythical creature dragged upward by the mesmerizing crimson orb. In the depths of Mortlach’s stills, the influence of the blood moon echoed, its seductive ruby richness and dark complexity transformed Mortlach itself with a rare and bewitching nature.

Nestled in its dark and historic valley, Mortlach has long attracted fans of its deep and magnetic character. It has its aura; light seems to lower through its hallowed doors. Even the way of things is different, 2.81 times whiskey distilled in six singing stills arranged in a pattern found nowhere else. Part science, part mystery. Bold, but enigmatic.

Glistening with ruby light, this legendary whiskey has been finished in a combination of Virgin Oak, Tawny Port and Red Muscat wine barrels that enhance its deep amber color. Robust aromas of rich wine and sweet grapes intertwine with Mortlach meat. Dark and richly layered, the intense, lively and sweetly fruity flavor glows with a depth of ginger spice from the original partial maturation in Virgin Oak. A whiskey to love; sweetness, darkness and depth combined in mystical union.
