Etna Rosso Arcuria Graci 2019
Grape varieties: Nerello Mascalese 100%
Production area: ancient vineyard on the northeast slope of Etna, Passopisciaro – Castiglione di Sicilia in the Province of Catania.
Soil type: brown, volcanic in origin rich in skeleton, frank sandy to sandy loam, neutral ph, noncalcareous, rich to very rich in iron and high in nitrogen.
Type of planting: sapling bred to espalier.
Strain density per ha: between 6000 and 10000.
Harvest: last week of October.
Vinification: traditional red wine without the use of selected yeasts, without temperature control in truncated oak vats, maceration in contact with the skins for 30 to 90 days.
Maturation: 24 months in large oak vats with spontaneous malolactic fermentation and another 6 months in bottle.
Organoleptic characteristics:
- Color: ruby red.
- Nose: elegant and complex with aromas of small berries, hints of Mediterranean scrub, graphite and woody nuances.
- Taste: good structure, is broad with fine tannic texture, nice freshness, crisp mineral veins with smoky suggestions. Savory and persistent finish.
Serving temperature: 16/18 °C
Food pairings: excellent with grilled and roasted white or red meats.
