Eudes Etna Rosso DOC Milleottocentoquaranta 2018 wine is an excellent expression of Etna’s winemaking tradition, produced by the renowned Eudes winery. Located in the southeastern part of Etna, the winery extends to the slopes of Mount Gorna, in an area characterized by an altitude of about 700-750 meters above sea level and a full southern exposure. The area planted with vines covers 5 hectares, and the main grape varieties used include those indigenous to the area, such as Carricante, Catarratto and Nerello Mascalese, the latter from vines with an average age of 140 years. The winery, founded by Giovanni Messina’s father in the 1970s, is now run with passion and dedication by Giovanni and Laura Torrisi, talented winemakers who pursue their dream of creating high-quality wines.

The nose opens with complex, enveloping aromas of red fruits, spices and earthy hints, accompanied by light floral notes. The palate is balanced and elegant, with a well-defined structure, smooth tannins and pleasant freshness. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a pleasant feeling of bramble and spice.
Recommended pairings: This wine pairs beautifully with Sicilian dishes such as roast meats, game, aged cheeses and mushroom dishes. It is also perfect to enjoy on its own, to fully appreciate its complexity and elegance.
